A few quick stories for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy :)
First off, Levon, our dinosaur/dragon/monster loving kid, brought in this last Thursday:
It's a two-headed jelly dragon toy filled with beads.
I want one.
The End.
Also on Thursday, Audrey and I were sitting in the kitchen eating our pasta when our host mom came in. I don't know why, but our host mom seems to think we aren't eating enough. Even though we were eating our pasta... right in front of her... So she opens the fridge and asks us why we don't have any bread. Um, because we ate it already? So she puts a bag of bread on the table. And a plate with sausage and cake. And a big block of butter. And an orange.
And, hey, when you have an orange..
Oh! We had this kind of cake for dessert. Because the cake that host mom gave us wasn't cake. It was..
Yuck.
The End.
On Saturday, we lollygagged our way to school to hang out and watch some TV. We're super into the show Supernatural right now. It's funny, it's scary, it's suspenseful, it has ghosts and demons, it's gorey, it stars two hot guys. What more could we want, eh? So we relaxed, made some guacamole, and had a fiesta on the bear carpet.
Coffee ice cream. With nuts. There were like 5 whole nuts in this. Good job. But the carton is way cute, yeah?
We also drank coffee while eating our coffee ice cream. Don't judge.
The End.
Walking home after watching Supernatural is not the easiest thing to do. Especially in the dark. I know, we're morons, but we don't exactly have internet at home so we try to pack in as many episodes as we possibly can before going home. In the dark.
Truthfully, our 20 minute walk isn't usually scary in the dark- unless we make it scary. The other night, we left at midnight (morons, once again) and we were looking around anxiously waiting for something to pop out at us. Our path includes going through an underpass to get across the highway. It's like a dark, smelly, concrete alley under the road.
So we're walking through it from, one side to another, and we can hear someone coming down the stairs on the side that we're headed to. Our arms are already linked together (Audrey's a bit taller than me so she kind of just pulls me along for the journey) and we brace ourselves before turning the corner.
So we turned the corner aaaanndd...
THERE WERE TWO HUGE ST. BERNARD DOGS STANDING ON THE STEPS EYE LEVEL WITH US.
"HOLY JESUS!"- that was my reaction.
And then we started giggling as we walked past them and made it home safely.
This is the underpass. See Mom, not nearly as creepy and dangerous as you think it is. (The flash makes it look like the lights actually work. Heh.)
The End.
Last night, we were smart enough to stop watching TV before it was dark and we packed up and headed out. It looked like rain..
Walking home in this weather while listening to Mumford & Sons is truly electrifying.
But it was just teasing us. No rain last night.
So as we sat in the kitchen eating our typical dinner of Ramen and staring out the window wishing for rain, what do you know, in comes host mom and asks us why we have no bread. She opens the fridge and grabs some bread and some meat and tells us to make some sandwiches since we're obviously starving. Once again, we are sitting there eating pasta... right in front of her...
Then Audrey and I played a quick game of "Which Animal Do You Think This Meat Came From?". We belive it was ham. We hope it was ham.
When the kitchen looks extra cluttered and the dishes (not ours, Mom, we wash everything we use) are piling up, we give our host mom a break from cleaning duty and we wash all the dishes, counters and the table. But we have a secret. We don't exactly enjoy touching the overused/never-washed sponge that sits on the counter for washing dishes.. So we keep our own sponge in our room. It's clean. And yellow.
And our demon cat likes to watch us.
The End.
Now it's Sunday and we're locked in the craft room at school watching Supernatural working on lesson plans. The weather is pretty hormonal today. First it'll be sunny, then it'll rain chunks of snow, then sunny, then rainy, sunny, rainysunnyrainysunnyrainy.
When it first started the rain/snow mixture, I was sitting in the art room with the heater on full blast and Audrey burst through the door and screamed and giggled all the way over to the window before flinging it open and walking out onto the balcony.
EW, SNOW. JUST, EW.
Thankfully it's almost 40 degrees outside so it melts as soon as it hit the ground. So what do we do? Grab the umbrella and head to the store. Duh.
We walked all the way to the store in the rain. The store is like 20 feet away (not exaggerating) so it wasn't that exciting.
We bought pistachio ice cream..
..and chocolate cookies. 1+1=..
BAM! Deliciousness.
And then it was sunny.
And then it was rainy.
And you know Audrey... She just HAS to go outside.
That's the story of how we ended up with Ramen.
The End.
I won't mind if you keep one of those secret cleaning sponges when you come home!!! another great post Kenz...except you scared me with the tunnel story...
