SO. This is the first official post of the new blog for 2011!
I'm really, really hoping this blog will be convenient and easy to use for everyone involved! In Switzerland I mainly used those super long emails (the ones that took 2 days to write and 15 minutes to read) and just sent them out to a bunch of people on my email list. It was amazing to get all the feedback through those emails, but mostly the same questions were being asked by five different people.. I really want to encourage everyone to leave comments, questions, or to just say Hi if you have time to spare!
One thing I loved about using the email system in Switzerland was that anyone could forward those emails to whomever they thought would be interested in reading them. This website is completely open to the public this time so you really only have to give out the web address. Feel free to give it to anyone! I'm pretty sure I have the comment section set up so that you don't actually have to have a Blogspot account. Just remember to sign your name somewhere within the comments so I know who I'm talking to! The web address is http://www.trainstationmoments.blogspot.com/ . The name comes from having major culture shock that usually happens in train stations. Last time it was super embarrassing so maybe this semester I'll have a few more awkward stories to add to my collection of train mishaps. Hopefully not, but I'm just going to go ahead and assume that there will be a lot.
Last time I ran off into the unknown, I also attempted to keep a blog. It obviously didn't turn out because this is probably the first time you've heard about it. So the first time I went to update it, the website was in German and that threw me off. I totally should have been expecting it.. but I wasn't. With that, here's to hoping my laptop doesn't decide to randomly try to learn Russian one day. I probably just jinxed it.
Anyway, I really hope to be able to update here quite frequently! Hopefully soon I'll post a quick run-down of everything that is happening right now and what I should be looking forward to within the next few weeks!
Cheers!
