Kiev

Coming home after a EuroTour high kind of sucks. No lie. After seeing some pretty awesome things, we came back to the same old stuff we've been doing (working). The first week back wasn't the easiest to adapt to- a few of us started culture shocking all over again. YUCK, not our idea of fun.

To remedy our sour moods, Audrey and I took off to downtown Kiev last Saturday to try and explore our city with fresh eyes and touristic enthusiasm.

First, we made a quick stop by our future house. Still in good condition just waiting for us.

We stopped by St. Sophia's to take some embarassing tourist shots.

This is the fire station. Bright pink!

We walked up and down souvenir street and spent a little too much on souvenirs. Or at least I did.

Then we found a cute cafe so we sat, drank hot chocolate, and ate almond croissants and the best chicken caesar salads ever.

The menu.

I worked on postcards. As soon as I find a post office..

This awesomemobile was sitting outside the cafe.

Our new Ukraine shirts!

We made it home in time to make a special dinner.

Audrey was excited.
So was I.

And a nice overflowing cup of tea ended our amazing day in Kiev. Audrey likes to fill up every last bit of space in our cups. She also likes to giggle when I burn my hand while trying to walk down the hallway to our room.

We still love Ukraine more than anything, but sometimes we need to be reminded how lucky we are to be here. A Kiev Day once in a while should solve that.

I still love you, Kiev, and I'm sorry I had an affair with Prague.
