Today was a very easy day. Only about 1/4 of the kids showed up so that was nice.

This Weekend
We just finished teaching for the week and we are SO tired! It was definitely a challenging week and we're very thankful for the weekend. This was the first week that we had to write out our lesson plans with a minimum of 25 steps. I'm sure it'll get much easier as it goes on, but they were horrible this week.
Tonight there's a huge sleepover at the other school in our division so we're packing up and heading over there later tonight. It's more in the center of Kiev so it'll take us about an hour to get there. Then tomorrow Audrey and I have plans to shop- FINALLY. We have so much on our 'want' lists! Hopefully we'll also be able to find some awesome souvenirs.. and postcards! And on Saturday night we have tickets to The Nutcraker. I might try to sneak a few photos for you guys :)
Sunday we really hope to be back in school preparing for the next few weeks. So much to do.. Hopefully when things get settled down and we have lesson plans planned in advance for a bit then we can start having adventures in the afternoons and more on weekends!
I finished with my Arts & Crafts and Games rotations this week and next week I'm in charge of Kitchen and Shop. This means I get to eat lots of snacks for the next two weeks. I might consider sharing with Audrey...
Happy Friday and have a good weekend!

Quick Update: 2
Just a quick list of random things you may or may not find interesting :)
ALSO
No joke, yesterday was "Tanya Appreciation Day". Everyone in Ukraine named Tanya was appreciated. Now I see why everyone is named Tanya. I'll be naming all of my kids (even boys) Tanya, just so they can be appreciated one day every year.
The Life of Instant Potatoes; Food: Part 1
So everyone knows that Audrey and I are given $100 each every month to buy food, right? Eventually I'm sure that we'll get around to actually cooking meals, but for now we just kind of buy whatever we want to try. It's been interesting.

Long Day at the Office
We spent 12 hours at school on Sunday planning lessons (and doing other stuff) and we got a lot done, but not as much as we hoped. 7am this morning was a bit of a strange hour for us.

Kiev by Storm
I'm pretty sure Kiev didn't know what was going on. A bunch of giggly American girls running around with their cameras out? Whoa.
On Saturday one of our coordinators, Tanya, took us on a tour of downtown Kiev! We walked a TON and took even more pictures. There will be a lot of pictures on this post so I'm really sorry if it takes anyone a long time to load..
Does everyone have their adventure pants on? Here we go...
