The Life of Instant Potatoes; Food: Part 1

So everyone knows that Audrey and I are given $100 each every month to buy food, right? Eventually I'm sure that we'll get around to actually cooking meals, but for now we just kind of buy whatever we want to try. It's been interesting.
Let's start with what our host family has:

Not completely sure what this is.. but I'm not going to be the first to open the jar.
Same with this. We found it on the kitchen table one morning. Squash perhaps?

They must have gone to McDonalds one day because we came home to a bunch of these floating around. Audrey and I see the golden arches everywhere, but we have yet to actually FIND one.
This is our kitchen! It's super cute. The wall on the right (not pictured) has a small stove, some cabinets, and the sink..

We have been buying a lot of tea. There's like a whole tea aisle in any grocery store so we have many many choices to try from. We have Camomile Peach, Strawberry Raspberry, Mayskiy (black tea), and Rosehip Black Currant. It keeps us happy.

And the juice! We currently have 3 cartons of different juice. The first one here is Multivitamin. It has apple, peaches, oranges, plums, nectarines, and lots of cherries. SOO good! And the second one is Apple Mango. We've also tried the Orange Bannana Pineapple, and Peach. Ohmygosh, it's so good.

We make sandwiches of some sort every morning. Mostly it's ham, lettuce and bread, but we've also had jam sandwiches with blackberry jam.

And, of course, peanutbutter and bananas on amazing bread.

Lettuce comes with dirt still attached.

THIS was a total accident. We seriously thought we were buying like red currant flavored Lays and we were super excited to try them. And they weren't even 50cents. So we took them home and I opened them and I was like, "What smells like fish?" NO JOKE, we bought red caviar flavored chips. Anyone want them? We sure aren't eating them.

This is the result of another one of our failures. All we want is pasta sauce. The first one is ketchup, the second one is salsa. Next we'll probably buy tomato paste.
This is a success story! We were hungry on Sunday while spending the day at school so we went to the store next door and bought a few things. Theres 2 soup cups, one instant potato cup, 2 ice creams, cappuccino chocolates and little fruit tart things. This would be an example of buying food just to try it. All. So. Good.. We've also tried kiwi ice cream. It's awesome.

Instant potatoes. Best invention ever. Do you like my Pooh Bear fork?

Other than this, we've been living on pasta (no sauce). And everyday our school feeds us. It's usually cole slaw, some kind of meat, and some kind of dumpling. A few days ago it was cabbage dumplings:

They were ok, but the potato ones have definitely been the winners.
